FORBES, Edna Gannon- age 77 of Shop Springs, passed away at her residence on Feb. 13, 2013. Mrs. Forbes was a 1953 graduate of Watertown High School. She retired after 36 years with South Central Bell and then became the first 911 Director of Wilson County. She was a member of Bethel Church of Christ for 59 years. Her love was her family, work, and quilting. Born Feb. 21, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Jennie Laine and Murfree Gannnon. She is also preceded in death by brothers, William, Doyle, Roy, and Lynn Gannon; sisters, Gladys Riley, Thelma Cotrell, and Patsy Reed. She is survived by her husband, Sam Forbes of 60 years; daughters, Ginny (John) Laudeman, Cindy (Bart) Brown; son Mike (Melinda) Forbes and family member Roy Sweet; sister, Virginia Shipp; Grandchildren, Crystal Crockett Shields, Brittany Crockett Waring, Kyle Forbes, Nick Forbes, and Hannah Forbes; Great- grandchildren, Shepherd and Olivia Shields. Step-grandchildren , Troy, Carter, and Eli Hartzell. Caregivers, Meghann Knopp and Alice Hullett. Funeral services will be on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be on Thursday Feb. 14, 2013 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm in the Partlow Funeral Chapel and again on Friday from 11 a.m. until the service. Rev. Leon White and Bro.
