Claude Swain Harris

HARRIS, Claude Swain - age 86 of Mt. Juliet passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 at The Gardens at Providence Place. He was preceded in death by parents, Guill Alden & Jenny Ruby Harris and wife, Nelda Eddins Harris. Survived by sons, Michael (Denise) Harris, Keith (Denise) Harris both of Mt. Juliet and Stephen (Jamie) Harris of Morrison, TN; sister, Martha Jane (Robert W. "Billy") Cook; grandchildren Eric Harris, Drew Harris, and Haley Harris. Mr. Harris was a member of Gladeville United Methodist Church. He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture with 37 years of service where he served as a Senior Marketing Specialist and a livestock grader. He was also a member of the Wilson County Agriculture Hall of Fame. His love of livestock and people carried him across the state of Tennessee to make many friends. Visitation for Mr. Harris will be held on Sunday June 8, 2014 from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. at the Gladeville United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be on Monday June 9, 2014 at 2 p.m. with visitation from 12 noon until the service at Gladeville United Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Youngman, Rev. Robert Spickard, & Dr. Emmit Rawls will officiate. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Gladeville United Methodist Church Building Fund, Wilson County Agriculture Hall of Fame, or your local FFA or 4-H organization. Friends and co-workers will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to express a special thank you to Joby Eakes, James Woodall, Lynn Crowell & the staff at The Gardens at Providence Place.
