Retired Colonel Ervin C Manning Obituary (1932 - 2012)

Retired Colonel Ervin C. Manning age 80 passed away October 17, 2012 in Adams Place in Murfreesboro, Tn. He was born January 17, 1932 to E.T. & Annie Thorne Manning. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sally Marcelino Manning; brother, Carl Manning. Survived by daughters, Dena(Dru) Anderson of Murfreesboro & Dr. Diane Pennington-(Peter)Mimick of St. Mary's Georgia; sisters, Harriett Manning & Lois Fuller both of Lebanon; grandchildren, Ashley Anderson, Alex Anderson, Lydia Pennington, & Matthew Mimick.; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Colonel Manning was a native of Lebanon Tennessee and a 1950 graduate of Lebanon High School and graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. He was a pilot in the United States Air Force and a Vietnam veteran. He and his family lived in Warner Robins Georgia for 29 years and he was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro and the Adventurers Sunday School Class, and a member of the Walking Eagle Coffee Club. Colonel Manning was a life member of the Order of Daedalians, Military Officers Association and the Murfreesboro Noon Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 20th 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will follow with military honors at 1:30 p.m. in the Wilson Co.
