Edward Petraitis

Edward Petraitis of Lebanon, TN passed away September 16, 2026.

He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Theresa Petraitis; maternal grandparents, Sophie “Bachie” and husband Stanley Joswick. Paternal grandparents, Anna and Polinar Petraitis; brothers in law, Jim Poarch and Michael Kile and nephew, Phillip Poarch

He is survived by wife of 43 years Danita Petraitis; children, Brian (Krista) Petraitis and Danielle Petraitis; grandchildren, Liam Thomas and Emma Kaye Petraitis; siblings, Carol (Chris Keller) Petraitis, Thomas (Karen) Petraitis, Loraine (Cari Besserman) Petraitis; sisters in law, Patricia Poarch and Donna (John) Reed, aunt and uncle, Joyce and Albert Joswick and Andrea Szot; neices and nephews, Paul (Kelly), Grace, Hannah, Coral (Will), Jason, Stephanie, Caylyn, Logan and great niece and nephew, Charlee and Everly.

Edward was originally from Brooklyn, New York, and was a graduate of Smithtown High School East in Smithtown, New York. He continued his education at Suffolk County Community College, where he earned an associate degree.

He devoted more than 46 years to a career in the insurance industry, working as a Senior Insurance Underwriter for numerous insurance companies throughout the years. He and his wife, Danita, were members of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Edward had many interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He loved traveling and visiting theme parks, and he was an avid sports fan, especially when it came to hockey and baseball. He was also a devoted Star Wars fan, enjoyed coin collecting, and had a particular fondness for the classic film Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Above all, Edward loved his family and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 20th from 2 p.m to 4 p.m with a Funeral Service to follow at 4 p.m in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. There will be a graveside service held Monday September 21st at 10 a.m in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jeff Whited, Tommy Whited, Steve Caldwell, Randy Aspen, Matthew Grow and Sean Frick.
