Elizabeth "Betty" Anne (Short) Johnson Morris Obituary (1937 - 2022)

Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Short Johnson Morris of Clermont, FL passed away February 6, 2022 at the age of 85. Betty was born January 22, 1937 in Somerville, MA, daughter to Harold Short and Theresa Pretty. Betty was married to Roger Johnson and raised a family in Billerica, MA. Roger preceded her in death at a very young age. Betty remarried in 1981 to George Frederick Morris of Eden, NY. They shared 37 years together. Betty was valedictorian of her class at Somerville, HS and a graduate of the Deaconess School of Nursing. Betty loved to read and learn and went on to earn several degrees including her Master's in Education. Betty worked her early career in Boston area hospitals and especially loved working with the babies in pediatrics. Later in life, Betty became a teacher and taught in the Nursing Program at Shawsheen Valley Technical School. Betty also taught Anatomy & Physiology at the college level. She was always known as the neighborhood nurse and patched up and helped so many people. After retiring, Betty & George enjoyed traveling the country in their motorhome. They visited every state except Alaska. Betty loved to write and tell stories and would send letters sharing all their adventures with friends and family. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, George Morris. Betty is survived by her sister, Marilyn Hurwitz; her children, Eric Johnson, Jeffery Johnson and Wendy Neal; son in law, Michael Neal; and grandchildren, Kalem, Jessica, and Connor Johnson, and Zachary Neal.
