Ella Owen Major Reed

REED, Ella Owen Major - age 104 of Lebanon passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Chris Reed; parents, Tal and Hattie Bell Major; sister, Katherine Vickers. She is survived by sister, Talyne Gregg; nephews, Dr. Marvin (Darlene) Vickers, Owen (Marsha) Vickers; and several great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Reed was a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, taught school in Wilson County and Lebanon City Schools for 35 years and never missed a day. She was also a sunday school teacher at Jacob Hill Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Reed was a member of Westland United Methodist Church, the Retired Teachers Association and Major Demonstration Club. She was a person that loved her church, family, her school children and many friends. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brent Davis officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 11 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
