James Morris

James Marshall Morris, age 92, passed away Aug. 26, 2026 at Alive Hospice, Murfreesboro.

Born in Nashville, TN. Preceded in death by wife, Hilda Ann Murphy Morris; parents, Henry Lee and Edith Fortner Morris; daughter, Kay Copeland; brothers, Louis, Robert and Eugene Morris; sisters, Margaret Brewer, Annie Mae Brown, Louise Stewart and grandson, Jimmy Morand.

Survived by daughters, Jackie Long, FL; Kathy Church (Ray), Cheatham, TN; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; caregivers Phyllis and Steve Johnson and Cindy Dinning, MA.

Special thanks to nurses Samantha, Kaitlyn and Amanda at American House, as well as the nurses at Alive Hospice, Murfreesboro.

Marshall enjoyed fishing, joking around, rescuing animals, hot foods, eating Hershey Kisses and sharing his faith with others.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 5th, at 11 AM at Heads Church Cemetery (3158 Heads Church Road, Cedar Hill, TN. Minister Hubert Cunningham, of Joelton, TN, will officiate the service.
