Johnnie Mae Yelton Johnson Obituary (1942 - 2014)

JOHNSON, Johnnie Mae Wright Yelton- age 71 passed away Monday July 7, 2014. She was born on December 19th, 1942 to the late Earl & Marjorie Underwood Wright of GladevilleTn. Johnnie graduated from Mt. Juliet High School. She was married to the father of her children, Noel Gray Yelton in 1968 until his death in 1983. She then married Charles Cowan Johnson of Lebanon in 1988. Johnnie was passionate about the fine arts. Her fingers would dance across the keys with ease. She played music all over the county, weddings, funerals, horse shows, fashion shows & parties for entertainment as well as playing dinner music at The Plaza Restaurant in Lebanon. She was amazing at playing on request. She enjoyed teaching piano and performing at recitals. Johnnie served God & her church playing the piano & organ for most of her life serving Fellowship Baptist, Gladeville Baptist, & Cloyd's Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was involved in several social organizations such as Cloyd's Cumberland Presbyterian Women, The Love Notes Choral Group and The Eastern Star Chapter # 95, Amaranth & the White Shrine. Johnnie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Charles Johnson; children, Allen Gray Yelton & his wife Holly, Angela Yelton Elder & her husband Brian, Jim Johnson & his wife Kimberly, Eric Johnson & his wife Lori, Connie Hollis & her husband Jimmy; grandchildren, Gus Yelton, Katy Mae Elder, Noel Elder, Parker Johnson, Eli Johnson, Jenny Hearne, Rachel Steele, Matt Steele, Nigel Dedmon, Tanner Dedmon, & William Dedmon. brother, Wayne Wright & his wife Helen. Visitation Wednesday July 9th 4-8 p.m. & Thursday July 10th 11:00 a.m. until funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Bro. Interment, Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Bro. Mike Reece to officiate the services. Pallbearers, Marty Heckman, Jonathan Gray, Mark Gray, Chad Horner, Dean McKaskle, Dwayne Wright, Spanky Spangler, & Bobby Griffin.
