NEDRA AILEEN BRENDER STEPHENS- AGE 87 of Lebanon, Tennessee died March 7, 2015. She was born in Cashmere Washington and grew up on Brender Road in the Brender Valley area which was first settled by her great grandfather when he came to America from Germany. She graduated from Cashmere High School and attended Wenatchee Junior College in Wenatchee WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nellie Brender, older brothers , Walter and Clifford all of Cashmere. Her husband of over 60 years, John E Stephens also who passed in 2013.She loved music and participated in singing and handbell choirs at the various Air Force Bases where she and her husband were stationed and at First Baptist Church in Lebanon where her family settled after John's retirement in 1967. Mrs. Stephens was an active member and served as an officer in the Officer's Wives Club where ever they were stationed, The Village Women's Club, Lebanon Music Club and Wilson County Republican Women. Whatever role that she served whether it was wife, mother, grandmother or friend, she served from the heart. She is survived by her children, Lonnie (Peggy) Stephens of Lafayette, TN., Tom (Maggie) Stephens of Memphis, TN and Charnell (Dr. Bruce) Johnson of Lebanon, TN. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Dr. Trenton Stephens of Raleigh, NC, Aubrey Johnson of Florence, Italy, Mallory , Heath and Luke Johnson of Lebanon. She also leaves behind special family friends, Lisa Sorrels and Pat Woody of Lebanon; nieces Delores Brender Helmholz of Tacoma, WA and Sandra Brender Buckland of Wenatchee WA and the staff of The Pavilion. Visitation will be held Saturday March 14, 2015 in Lebanon's First Baptist Church 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 2 pm at the church.
