Nelle Pauline Wood Eddins Turner Obituary (1915 - 2015)

Nelle Pauline Wood Eddins Turner died on July 4, 2015 at Hearthside Assisted Living at the age of 99.Preceded in death by parents, John Allen Wood and Alice Ward Wood; husbands, J.T. Eddins and Dudley Turner; sisters, Margaret Eddins, Dorothy Layne Garrett, and Ruth Wood; brothers, Burnice Lee Wood, Paul Allen Wood and Robert Rhea WoodMrs. Turner is survived by sister, Rubye Wood Guethlein; brothers, William "Bill" Ernest Wood and Charles Allen (Laurel) Wood; sister-in-law, Betty J. Wood. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.Nelle graduated from Lebanon High School class of 1936 and worked at Bland Casket Company for many years. Nelle and her husbands enjoyed traveling the beautiful U.S. visiting 48 of the 50 states. She was a long time member of College Street now College Hills Church of Christ and taught bible classes in her younger years. Nelle was blessed with good health and enjoyed her daily walks at the Jimmy Floyd Center well passed her 95th birthday. The family wishes to thank her very caring sitters: Hazel Neal, Kathy Martin, Lucille Mallard-Ross, Betty Brasher, Joy Young, Brenda Bryder, Heather Hagar and Dora Johnson for the love and attention they gave to Nelle. Also thanks to the staffs of The Pavilion, Hearthside Assisted Living, and Gentiva Hospice of Lebanon, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 1 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with visitation on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 12 noon until services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Services will be conducted by Brother Larry Locke and Brother Greg McCoy.Honorary pallbearers are Elders and Deacons of College Hills Church of Christ and the Tuesday Morning Bible Class. Active pallbearers will be members of her family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to College Hills Church of Christ in Mrs. Nelle Turner's name.
