R. David Allen Obituary (1928 - 2018)

ALLEN, R. David- age 89 passed away Friday February 23, 2018. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy " Dottie" Allen; & son, Daniel B. Allen; birth parents, William & Helen Allen; adopted mother, Elizabeth Liebermann;& brother, Henry Scherff. Survived by son, Douglas Scherff(Marlese) Allen; grandchildren, Clinton David(Allie) Allen & Ashley Adams; great grandchildren, Kinsley Brooke Allen & Magnolia Rose Allen; best buddy, CoCo Allen. Mr. Allen was born December 5, 1928 in New York City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1946- 1948 & the U.S. Air Force serving from 1950-1952. He attended the University of Louisville, Ky 1948-1949, the University of Kentucky, 1952-1959 receiving an A.B. in Journalism, & Nashville School of Law, 1958-1962, with a Doctor of Laws. He was a Industrial Relations Manager for TRW's Ross Gear Division Plant, 1961-1964. Assistant District Attorney General for the State of Tennessee, 1967-1977, and owned his Private Practice of Law in Lebanon from 1965 until his retirement. Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 27th 2-4 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel.
