Raymon Smith Underwood Obituary (1918 - 2016)

UNDERWOOD, Raymon Smith- age 97 of Mt. Juliet passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. He was preceded in death by parents, Chester and Maggie Underwood; siblings, Melvin, J.W., and Floyd Underwood and Rena Bell Davis; and grandson, Raymon Wayne Underwood. Mr. Underwood is survived by wife of 71 1/2 years, Connie Dixon Underwood; son, Ray (Joan) Underwood; daughter, Billie (Bob) Smiley; grandchildren, Tonya (Tim) Shoaf, Shane (Lisa) Underwood, & Dwayne (Julie) Wright; great-grandchildren, Matt, Brett, & Alexis Bowers, Preston, Ethan & Caleb Underwood, Hunter & Brynlyn Wright; sisters-in-law, Bea Underwood, Betty Peach, & Francis Dixon; 5 step grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren; 1 step great-great grandson; and beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Underwood was a World War II Army Veteran and a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel with visitation from 12 noon until the service. Bro. Darrell Duncan will officiate and interment with military honors will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
