DENSON, Retired Colonel Dennie Lee- age 66 passed away Sunday October 7th in St. Thomas Hospital. Preceded in death by parents, Alex Leo & Winnie Florence Pippin Denson; brother, James "Bill" Denson; sisters, Jo Mae Allen & Elene Marks. Survived by wife of 46 years, Marlene Denson; daughters, Sharon Hudson-Douglas & Andrea Cox; grandchildren, Daniel A. Hudson, James A. Hudson, Hannah Stinnett, & Carson Cox; brother, A.C. Denson; sister, Edna Jean Cox. Colonel Denson was a graduate of Cumberland University, retired 41 years from the Tennessee Army National Guard & was awarded the Legion of Merit, TN Distinguished Service Metal & numerous other awards. Visitation Wednesday October 10th 4-8 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Funeral services Thursday 11:00 a.m. in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1003 Hickory Hill Lane, Hermitage, Tn. 37076, with visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Pastor Keith Enko will officiate the services. Interment, Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens in Mt. Juliet, Tn. Honorary pallbearers, are his friends who are members and retirees of the Tennessee Army National Guard & Billy Jones, Andy Harper, Dan Stewart, Alton Driver & George Hawkins.
