Shirley Frank Greene Obituary (1924 - 2011)

GREENE, Shirley Frank "Pop"- age 86 passed away Friday January 7, 2011 in the Quality Health Care Center. He is preceded in death by his wife, Cherrie McKinney Greene; sister Mary Helen Vanhook. Survived by sons, Dana(Heidi) Morton, Joe Morton, Rick Cooke, Ken Cooke; sister, Charlotte(Harry) Preston; granddaughter, Cherrie(Ron) Long; great grandsons, Joey Bly & Joshua Bly; great great grandson, Elijah Bly. Mr. Greene was a decorated WWII Army veteran, a member of the Unit # 738th Tank Battalion, and a very successful businessman in the Textile Manufacturing Industry traveling the world during his career. Visitation will be held for Mr. Greene on Tuesday January 11, 2011 5-6 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the Partlow Chapel. Chaplain Judy Gray will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions may be made to the American Legion.
